Pat, You may search the past posts on this subject. Apparently care must be taken when plugging in the GPS unit as it will trigger the transmitter and since you had no antenna or dummy load connected

Jose, Love your version of this design. Will you consider sharing the design files? I will be ordering a printer end of the month. Just got my 20M kit so I have time before a case will be needed.

Re: making mods to the clock kit

Hi Bill I think that your estimates are in the right ballpark EXCEPT for the LCD backlight - the current consumption of this backlight should be around 30mA (NOT 150mA).

QCX 818 - progress today let magic smoke out
#qcx
Good afternoon all, I could use some suggestions on what might have happened that caused Q3 (and probably others) to let smoke out.? The build process on this 40 Meter unit is a longer story, but I

Ted, Sounds like a setting condition with the tone on receive. Check to see if you programmed both receive and transmits tones. ?In most cases you just use the transmit tone. ?If you had a tone on

Re: No Tx Power..using troubleshooting guide

I do have 5v at the base of Q4, and at the Kent Q6 is not being turned on by Q4. There may be a bad connection on Q4 or R42. One end of R42 is at the base of Q6 11.4V, what is the voltage at the other

Re: Receiver module troubleshooting
Ok, made some more progress. Fed the receiver with a 40m signal from a VFO I have, and changed the LO to suit. Got super audio tone that varied with the VFO!. BUT. The level on IC4 pin 1 is much lower

Re: progrock on power up
Mine does the same - Even giving it 11.5V from a good PSU, I get the three flashes. I¡¯m able to program it successfully with the four flashes after each button press so I¡¯m not too worried. 73

Re: Receiver module troubleshooting
Ok, here is where I've got to, trying to debug my receiver. On IC2, pins5,6,8,9 I see the 10.138 MHz signal. So that's good. I have not yet tried injecting a strong signal at the antenna input, but
