I did the case mods that Ken has suggested and noticed a significant decrease in base noise level in the receivers of my QDX and my QCXs.? My radios are all grounded through the antenna connectors to the the tuner which has an earth ground wire attached going to copper stake in the outside my shack. I plan to improve on that with radials so I can use my balanced dipole as a top loaded Marconi.
