Right up there with TGIF & OHIM
Can't find OHIM, that's a new one for me ;-)
TGIF is of course familiar (Thank God It's Friday, same as POETS days mentioned by my learned friend M0PWX).
Trivia lesson coming up..
A play on this was a UK TV programme called TFI Friday on Channel 4.
We all knew what it really meant, due to the well known antics of it's anarchic presenter, provocative acts and guest lists (Britiish TV being somewhat more "open" than most countries) at the time.
However, the official line was that it stood for Thank (Channel) Four It's Friday to shut the brigade up.
Spinning off at a random tangent here, is the NORWICH acronym.
It was adopted in the "olden days" when sending CW telegrams, and every character cost money on bandwidth limited circuit.
Rather than sending servicemen's (GI's in the US) messages about how they can't wait to get home to their YL's / XYL and do some "stuff", the operators would instead send NORWICH to save time, which meant (K)Nickers Off Ready When I Come Home ;-)
