Re: Mount for QCX-Mini and paddles

I have something similar to that, Jack, also from Ebay at #265331766918. That's not the sale I purchased from, but what I have is identical. It's a lot lighter than that stainless steel paddle, and I can't tell if it is spring or magnetic return based because of the case, and the sale never says which it is. But it works quite well, and comes in a nice metal tin with shaped foam inside, a few adhesive-backed steel sheets to apply to aluminum radio chassis so the key will stick, and an adjusting Allen key for the gap.

None of these magnetic-base keys stick strongly enough to any surface that they don't slide side to side while in use. I'm always tempted to epoxy down slices of PCB material to provide a little "socket" for the base of the key to sit in, so it doesn't skitter around. The steel sheets are great for holding it to the radio case, but it still needs something to keep it from skittering around while you use it. Especially if you're in the regrettable habit of slapping the key around like I have. I'm working to get rid of that, as most of my keys are sensitive enough that it isn't necessary.
