I also have gas discharge lightning protection here. It's probably not going to save anything with a direct (or even nearly so) hit, but it will keep the static from building up too much. Anyway, I haven't lost any equipment yet.

My prob is that antenna enters home from third floor loft window and hard to run a long grounding wire to earth.
