Hi Paul,
You don't say otherwise so Assume it TX & RX Normally, RF out & current draw in the ball park. Only problem is TX practice / off air decode?
If so it's likely someone has played with the settings. It needs sane settings in which to start from. There is a window option, where the inbuilt decode starts it's training, to attempt decodes and also a weighting option? If you cant find any wild ones (but you loose "your" customisation, if any) Easiest is to do a factory reset, you will not loose alignment & the menu options will be at least in a known ball park.......
Microphony if it's consistent & only at high volumes it has being noted before. There is a lot of AF gain in the absence of any IF stages in the design.
I have a QCX20 that as been working well for me, I take it to rallies and its on display for others to play with, I normally put it into practice mode and turn the tx decoder on so people can see it decode their sending. Just getting ready for Blackpool and testing everything but I cant get the decoder to work, its not even trying, I gives the odd * now and again but still that???s rare, the tones there no problem , just no decode, it is turned on, I checked but still no decode, anyone any ideas, going to get things packed away by sat lunch time so any help would be welcome.

Ps also noted a little feedback at high volume into a speaker and you can hear when you tap the desk/case too. Cant say I noticed this before but its only when volume flat out .
