Will the new group lose content in the same way that messages
eventually disappear from other Facebook groups?? If so, there is
a loss of valuable accumulated knowledge that does not happen with
old-school email groups.

Nobody is trying to "split" the present group, only trying to add
a new more modern venue for fans and QRP enthusiasts.
