Re: Rasberry Pi WSPR Decode

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the screen shots but I don’t see your first line the same in either. I have set my external usb dongle (C-Media headset/mic adaptor) to default but makes no difference. Whatever happened to the simple direct reporting of the soundcard in earlier versions of WSPR?

I also have a better quality Griffin iMic USB soundcard but that does not get seen by WSJT-X either, but is seen OK by the Raspbien ‘volume’ icon.

I tried running my Raspi in Turbo mode but max speed just crashed it.

Hi Ken,

My setup is very slightly different to yours:

QRP Labs Rx (not QCX) mono output >> Mic input (mono) of this USB sound adaptor

This is connected to a RPi 3 running WSJT-X ver 1.7.0 and Raspbian Jessie.

My Rx and Tx? audio settings are as per the attached pics and for me, the TX setting isn't relevant as I'm using a U3S to Tx. (Just as a test I changed it from ALSA to another without getting any error messages.) (The blue highlighted option is just where the curser is? positioned)

Perhaps the different later versions of the WSPR and RPi OS s/w that you? are the cause of the issues? but your error message 'Audio data not being fed to the audio input device fast enough'. is strange.

Perhaps if you already have a USB audio 'dongle' it might be worth trying ? I have used a very cheap one ?2 in the past which worked.

Hope the above helps.

Hi Dave,
I too cannot get WSJT-X v1.8.0 to recognise my soundcard on my Raspberry Pi.
I get a long list of options but my nearest input to yours is:-?Input??sysdefaultCARD=SET (not 'Device') and Output?? sysDefaultCARD= ALSA is there but does not work. All I get at start up is an error message in WSJT-X is 'Error in Sound Input' then 'Error in Sound Output' and 'Audio data not being fed to the audio input device fast enough'. Early versions of WSPR found my USB soundcard straight away. Any ideas what to try next please? Ken G4APB
