Oops. It sounds like I didn't read "ALL" of the manual. I thought the
instructions were to scroll the 2-line display. No worries. The clock
works wonderfully with two lines. I've had one running non-stop for a
few years now. I built #2 for a different location (and besides that I
like building your kits)

assume you have built your clock using a 4-line display, not the
supplied 2-line display??
To alternate between
different displays on a line, you should enter the text for the line
with the "black block" character to delimit the various things you want
it to scroll through.?
