When I enter ¡°Peak BPF¡± the displayed amplitude is varying somewhat. Several bars. I do my best to come up with the max where the factor on the top right is 8 or 9. The blades of the C1 look ok (position of blades look ok).

Then, when I go to the next step, the variable resistors don¡¯t seem to change the displayed amplitude. I might be able to gain/lose a single bar but that¡¯s all. ?Instructions say to position gain at half. I needed to drop the volume nearly to minimum to eliminate that factor number from going to 12 or beyond.

Just to check, I inserted a long piece of wire in the antenna BNC and went to normal mode but 17m is not a very active band, especially with a piece of wire serving as an antenna. I don¡¯t hear any signals.

On receive, the unit is drawing 140ma at 12.2 volts. That looks good.
