Well, I haven¡¯t found the perfect enclosure (this one isn¡¯t for me) and I haven¡¯t yet found an affordable die punch for the LCD screen hole, but I did buy a 1x16 male pin strip and a 1x16 ribbon cable for off mounting the display. The pots are already easy to mount in a case and two simple momentary sp/st switches are easy to source. (Though I¡¯m looking for switches with zero bounce to eliminate errant multiple pushes).?All the other chassis mount components are readily available also. The very well constructed assembly and use manual clearly shows how to wire all the moving parts off-board. Excellent. Any other ideas on cases and the exact size hole punch needed (and a source for one) would be greatly appreciated.?
I kicked around the idea of having a case made professionally and offering them for sale as it looks like 1000¡¯s of these great little transceivers will be sold Quickly but, alas, I work and have kids. How about someone volunteer to source one from a custom manufacturer? Hans- any suggestions?
What a blast this hobby is! Never ending source for curious minds and figity hands.?
