Yes, the non-trivial nature of the software and the interaction with the hardware likely has eaten up some of the clock cycles which means that the firmware needs to be told that fewer clcok cycles need to be counted to keep the UTC clock on time (or is it more??... end of a long day...).

My FT-857 also hears zero beat at 20,002,000 on the USB. When I listen to the USB signal at 10 MHz (US time signal) there is lots of activity as the clock does different things in the WSPR cycle. Sometimes having a short "data burst" on the seconds count (maybe the update to the LCD?) and other times it is nearly quiet. Somewhat expeted with two oscillators and digital stuff happening just a few inches away...
