I would suggest making a tool consisting of a "U" shape of heavy-ish solid wire whose legs would closely straddle the diode contacts, tinned at the ends.??
Heat the wire, place it over the diode contacting the solder joints, and lift diode and all when both joints are melted.??
This method can be extended to multipin package, just form your tool appropriately.
