Note that the QMX is not stuck in "tune mode".?? Tune mode gives 25% power, about 1W, and is only activated when you are in the "Tune SWR" menu or the "SWR Sweep" function via a terminal connection.
What you are seeing is much less power than that, probably from the local oscillator or drivers before the power amp.? The symptoms are as if the power amp is not working.? In the diagnostic screen, when doing 'T' for transmit, do you see the proper 30mA of drive current, and a good transmit voltage?

It is highly unlikely that the firmware update, in an of itself, caused a change in power output - v027 is well tested firmware.? So there is likely another issue, that just happened at about the same time.? I was going to ask if you inadvertently got into "practice" mode, but a "factory reset" should have remedied that (a factory reset is sometimes required after updating firmware to clear out old settings).? Did you select the correct "band version" after the factory reset? Sometimes an error there can cause lack of transmit.?? And I presume you are not seeing SWR protect kicking in - that would be displayed in the diagnostic screen, and would also kill transmit.

It seems unlikely, but you could have also blown your finals with some mismatch event between the QMX and the amp, perhaps that gradually damaged them over time and just went over the edge.? I'm not sure of the best way to check for that.
