This should not happen.
The USB 5 volts is not connected to a QMX.
Check the USB cable. Make sure the 5 volt connection is not shorted to ground.
Check the cable alone. Then with it plugged in.
Ensure that there is no splash of solder on the QMX USB socket connection.
