Reviving the thread, I was able to get the QDX to work with Vara and Winlink just yesterday. From Missouri, I hit KB2PCN-5 on 20M using Vara and sent/received messages.
QDX config, set the following parameters:
- Rise Threshold: 65
- Fall Threshold: 45
- Minimum samples: 120
Winlink > VARA HF session > Settings > Radio Setup:
- Radio Selection > Radio model: Flex Radios
- select USB
- check "Use internal soundcard"
- Radio control port:
- Serial port to use: COM port where the QDX lives
- Baud: 9600
- Uncheck Enable RTS/DTR
- PTT port > Serial port to use: Flex
Vara HF > Settings > Soundcard
- Input: Digital Audio Interface (QDX Transceiver)
- Output: Digital Audio Interface (QDX Transceiver)
- Drive Level: 0 dB
