1 - I know I should not use an auto-tuner with my QMX/QMX+ when running 12V due to the transient high SWR which may be presented by the tuner... or at least this is what I have gathered from using the search function and watching videos.
2 - Because I am concerned about my finals, I plan to use a 9v supply in situations where I may be using a tuner (EMTECH ZM-2) so as to reduce stress on the finals.

Question: Is it acceptable to use an auto-tuner (ATU-10) with my 12V QMX/QMX+ (I have both) radios when running a supply voltage of 9V as a mechanism for protecting the finals? I know I would have to turn off the SWR protection, but am wondering if running it at 9V does enough to protect my finals...
