¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks to all of you who provided insight and helped me find the switch I needed. Not sure what I am going to do with a box of 200 momentary contact switches, but it was cheaper than ordering one from a well known supplier and paying the shipping. The switch replacement took care of the diagnostic issue and
allowed me to finish with configuration and testing. One note - I had to take the control/display assembly off of the faceplate to do the removal and replacement. That is a royal pain with the nylon nuts that are in between the boards in place. When I reassembled the unit, I substituted some clear plastic standoffs of the same height. The assembly went back together easily with minimal fiddling to get the spacer by the right encoder lined up and in place. I built the radio for 12V and noting those warnings, use a variable power supply set for 11.5Vwill continue to play around and fine tune the adjustments and settings, but I had between 3 and 5W out on all bands into a small dummy load. Not really concerned by the differences. I did note that SWR protection was ON and defaulted to a setting of 3 which seemed to correlate with about a 1.4 to1 on an external qrp watt/swr meter. That setting prevented the radio from keying. I moved the setting to 5 which seemed to correlate with 2.1 to 1. All bands work well with 10 M being the lowest in output. I need to go back into the documentation and the posts by folks who have good builds to see what some of the settings are/should be. I got a neighbor to come up on air and have a quick CW QSO with me to check his impression of signal purity and clarity... all good. Looking forward to playing with this little beast.
