I don't think you should assume your receiver calibration is absolutely correct or that the sound card frequency display is spot on.
This is what I do to set up a QRSS transmitter. I set Argo to display audio frequencies i.e. no offset. Tune the receiver, in CW mode, to 9.996 MHz to pick up the Russian standard frequency station RWM. If everything was perfect, I would expect to get a 600 Hz tone displayed in Argo when the receiver displays 9.996000 MHz. In fact I get 618 Hz, presumably the receiver oscillator is slightly off. Then I retune to 10.140050 MHz - the centre of the QRSS band - and tweak the trimmer cap to get the space frequency as near to 618Hz as possible.
Matching the transmitter to RWM in this way eliminates calibration errors, assuming the receiver offset is the same at both frequencies which I think is reasonable.

I have my Yaesu radio tuned to 10.140.00 and in USB mode. How do I configure Argo so the RHS shows me the actual frequency rather than the reading in Hz that I see right now.
I think I need to worry about carrier offsets and other such complications, but not too sure. The example in the instructions shows the Argo screen with 1230 - 1320 Hz shown and I'm struggling with my little brain to understand how that relates to 10.140.00 through 10.140.10.
If someone can point me at a suitable idiots guide to setting this beacon up I would be very grateful.
