Thanks for all the ATU background information, Sardar. With the method I've adopted, I'm using autotune and it works well for me too but I'm sort of faking manual ATU operation. When operating, I make sure the panel LED is off (a short press of the button turns it off). Then it will not autotune until I turn it back with with a double short press, which I only do after I've entered QMX tuning mode at reduced power. After tuning in tuning mode, I do a short press on the button. The LED turns off again and I leave tuning mode and operate.

As we discover issues, I am updating the companion pcb design. I have added 750 ohm resistor as Dirk suggested, increased track width to 2mm, added a circuit to bring the control of a bypass button to atmega.

Given the cost of jlcpcb shipment I would accumulate more changes before ordering,
