Re: WSPR TX Time Charts

I am watching this one with interest too.

I have a U2 which I initially used with no GPS.

I calibrated the clock frequency correctly and left the U2 on WSPR
witn NO problems. After a day the U2 was transmitting correctly
in each assigned time slot.

BUT - if yiou switch the U2 off and then restart it (perhaps after
an LPF change) then you MUST recalibrate the system clock again,
because quartz xtals have a habit of not returning to their
original operating frequency even after warming up.

That would make the WSPR timings start to wander, e.g start at 10
seconds past the minute and getting progressively worse as time
goes on (timings maybe lagging or leading).

The moral of the story is ALWAYS recalibrate the systemn clock
to the xtal frequency after switching off ;-)

Hans,

I may be in error and was only thinking of when I was testing with frame of 02, so it would start as soon as possible.

I do find it interesting that for the frame settings that do not come out equal into the 60 minutes, that there is a "short" interval before it resets to the start time value. That was one of the things that caused me to build the chart.
