The PTT test will only show the one dot.
Have you tried the P ( that's a capital P) transmit tests yet??

Stan, than you for your input! I forgot about that panel and did discover the device was muted in there. With my dummy load, it appears I'm now 'receiving' from the QMX+. I wasn't before. I'm still getting the single dot on the PTT test, but I may need to look around some more.?
