The QMX+ has SWR protection which IMHO is worth alone the extra complexity and the difference in price as it (should) stop you from burning your finals! If you are neat and patient all the QRP Labs kits are doable thanks to the very detailed manuals. If you lack patience whatever your experience you will find it long and tedious. The QMX and the QCX seem to be the hardest, QMX+ and QCX+ aren't so hard...
