After becoming an expert in the fine art of BS-170 replacement, I finally discovered that the real culprit wasn't the transistors—it was a so-called "12V regulated power supply" that was as unregulated as a toddler in a candy store, running at a much higher voltage. Enter the hero of the day: a buck converter, now proudly protecting my setup from any more overvoltage shenanigans.

With my QDX humming along nicely and the magic smoke securely locked inside the transistors where it belongs, I decided to channel my newfound free time into a noble pursuit. So, with a little help from some AI, I crafted a blues song dedicated to helping fellow QDXers? cope with the heartache of watching that precious magic smoke escape from their BS-170s.
