Pedantacism aside, I'm a bit anti paddle / e-keyers too.

As a devout straight key user, if I feel I need to EMPHASISE
any transmitted info, maybe in order to assist a slow user
or when propagation / QRM turns bad then I can automaically
adjust my ending style in speed and weight WITHOUT delving
into either a menu system or twiddling with keyer knobs.

And straight keys don't suffer from their IC's being disrupted
by high RF fields etc.
