?When I think about it, it should be much easier to "preprocess" input audio into I and Q paths by CPU/DSP and then use a relatively simple hardware mixer + envelope modulator of the PA. Or, even better, instead of using class E PA modulated by supply voltage (can 100% modulation be achieved by modulating supply voltage of a class E amplifier? - needed for PSK) add a linear stage, class B or AB. It would surely destroy the excellent energy efficiency vs class E PA, but it would be relatively easy way to implement SSB by doing in software what is difficult to realize in hardware and doing in hardware what would be terribly complicated in software.?
