Tony S., AC9QY,? first identified TN0110 and TN0106 as potential replacements for BS170.
This is what he found attractive:
- lower threshold voltage - higher avalanche voltage (TN0110 = 100V) - better case thermal resistance
The pinout reversal was annoying but folks have found ways to cope with that.
