First time ever that I've bothered with this stuff in 40+ years.
But I've used Hans's kits for 14 years now, U1,U2,U3,U3S,GPS kits.
Got? bunch of them, all run perfectly and given me an almost zero cost
hobby with a difference.
The difference is the special catering for ultra weak signal modes for peanuts,
that come with frequency stability and precision that NO major manufacturer offers.
I enjoy having sub 1Hz precision on TX for peanuts, and a QLG2 to provide
a UTC clock, as well as 1pps timing pulses / location data for external equipment
to use it's data.
I've sent my support and nomination to Steve at the ARRL.
