I've gotten that same error a number of times with different USB peripherals especially since updating to Windows 11. Lots of chatter out there about Microsoft making changes that really screw up com port recognition and sound Assignments and such in later updates to Win 10 and especially Win11.
Often for me a Windows restart clears it up. Now and then I have to do a do a full shutdown and power up.
