Update: bamboo got burned up and would not push though under any try. Finally sucked out as much as possible with solder wick and drilled the hole undersize. The kit wire would go through the drilled hole without scraping. Wound the transformer coils, carefully fashioned the single turn wires, scraped all 8 leads, test fit everything, soldered it & trimmed. Tested perfect!
