Greetings everyone - THANK YOU for all the replies!
Boy, did I mess that information up. Cockpit-errors in between trying to get my?
Starlink satellite service running after having it shut-down for 4-months (took
2 days of cyclic repeating info from their service folks to get it to work again)
So all that frustration messed with my memory-blanker stuff, trying to connect to
10.0.0.x from 192.168.1.x and failing, made me realize I was working between
Ubuntu and Win-7.
I just finished connecting the QDX to the Ubuntu system and have found after
starting wsjt-x and connecting to the QDX the following happens:
1- Radio and Audio tab entries load correctly
2- CAT test passes
3- Power slider maxed-out
4- Press the tune button and the light flashes on.off in 1-sec cycles
5- No RX audio showing on the 'thermometer' (at 0dB)
So, I started PUTTY and accessed the QDX successfully. Moved to the
test transmitter selection, pressed and held the "t" key to watch the TX
light - it cycled smoothly between and off.
Also the "Input Analysis" test via PuTTY displays only verticla paralled 'dot'
columns with repeating - time spaced - horizontal lines and no data. IF I
adjust the sweep time, there is a 'spot' where intermittent text data shows.
Also I listened to the TX signal on another receiver and the QDX was TXing fine.
I checked the antenna with an analyzer and it is OK, so there should be a signal
presented to the QDX. The analyzer displayed reasonable VSWR when the QDX
input was checked.
My questions now are:
- Why the blinking on/off during TX instead of the smooth winking on-to-off and NO
? transmitted signal
- Why no RX audio thermometer activity
Observations (other than this guy sure does mess up) ?
