Hi gang. Even more amazed ...
Earlier today I tweaked the TCXO to be within 0.2Hz receiving the 20 mHz WWV broadcast. Drifted up 1 Hz after about 4 hours of WSPR ops, TX'ing at 20% for a portion of that period with just the QMX running barefoot.
I also hooked in the 50Watt Amp kit I assembled for 15 Meters ( that I run at 12V ) that outputs about 9 Watts from the 3.4 Watts my QMX pushes out. Only did that for a few TX cycles but ....Got 'heard' by some great receiving stations as far away as 6000 to 8000 km.
?Even at just the 3.4 I was heard all over the US and well into western Europe. No problem with my AMP triggering correctly with the box stock PTT.?
All that drawing only 2.4 A at 12V for the AMP and QMX combined. Idle current for my little X is about 0.12A.?
And all that using a Chelegance MC-750 ground mount vertical that showed a 1:1 SWR right at the 21 MHz laser mark on the stinger. The antenna is in my side yard in my condo complex in Florida, with a slightly clear gap east and west between single story concrete block units with heavy wire and stucco exteriors.?
Fantastic.?
