I've listened to this weekend contest in 20 and 40m bands and tinkered with AGC settings some more. I've also tried Paul (W9AC) suggestion to increase "Smooth samples", and it seems to alleviate the clicks on TX.
My goal was to keep reasonable good dynamics and make RX as less tiresome as possible. Here's what worked for me:
