The guy on eBay [Lou......s]? is correct, he is selling the genuine devices used in
qrp kits, including the QDX. The fakes do not conform to the published Fairchild or Onsemi datasheets. The fakes do seem to be 2N7000 devices rebadged. A quick test with a TC1 type tester will identify the genuine article with the correct polarity diode in
the display.?

I had wondered that.
I wonder if there is a rumour going round?
On Ebay I see "BS170-D27Z N Channel MOSFET onsemi UK Seller" He says
"These are not to be confused with the many similar devices with
transposed drain and source connections."
Maybe using the misprint of the Onsemi data sheet to spread the rumours
and sell them expensively? ?1.70 each.
