Good morning.
Just a reminder to those of you who need to replace the BS170 in the finals (QCX/QDX/QMX).
Carefully check the pin order so you don't end up with transistors that have swapped pins (been there, done that...)
I had to replace the BS170 in my QMX and got a bag of BS170 from a friend that he bought online (China?).
The orignal BS170 for the QMX has the pinorder D-G-S but my new BS170 had S-G-D.
Unfortunately I did not checked this before solder them in. When I try to start the QMX the current went up way over the current limiting and the rig did not turn on.
After many hours of trying to understand what was happeing, I finally checked all transistors and found out the "reversed" pinorder.
I have now put in the same transistors but with the rounded side against the PCB and the rig is working again.
