I connected via minicom 9600,n,8,1 and expected to get the screen shown under?

I got this correct screen when I first powered up the unit, after it arrived assembled from QRP-LABS.
I receive this "wrong" screen, ?I can type on this screen, it is rx and tx over serial comms, so the cable is good, 9600,N,8,1 from the pi4 running Bullseye 11.

From this wrong screen, TEST CAT always fails.

What are you referring to as the "normal" initial screen??
It isn't clear to me what you are experiencing that is a problem.
To do a hardware reset you need to open Putty and get to the config screens in the QDX.
The page you see in Bitcom is the main config screen in the QDX and it all looks normal.
Normally The TX Threshold is set to zero, but I understand it should work at the default also.
I have a good 9600 baud connection, two way, from a pi4 to the QDX. ?The poor brand new QDX is in ?confused state.
? ? Things came up correctly, brand new, 4 days ago. ? ?
