Hans,
I still notice the CW send glitch, but appears to occur less frequently than on the 14 firmware release. I'm not able to reliably reproduce the issue ... making for a near impossible debug scenario. But when I do notice it, it's the dit paddle sending a dah first, followed by proper dits.? I'm running the alpha 000000 firmware, and am running in practice mode at 22 WPM, Iambic B mode, with TX and RX decode enabled on the QMX. So occasionally an "I" will send as an "N", and a "H" will send as a "B", for example. When this does occur, the QMX decoder confirms an "N" was sent when an "I" was keyed.
To try and reproduce this issue in a reliable way is nearly impossible.? But I can get it to glitch eventually by sending a long series of dits for 10 or 15 seconds by just depressing the dit paddle and holding. In this first part of the sequence I never hear the glitch. But then by sending a long series of the letter "E", once in a while a "T" will emerge (and I have no fingers near the dah paddle when doing this test). It usually occurs, it seems, when my thumb on the dit paddle changes cadence ever so slightly due to the fact I'm not a machine (though I'm trying to keep the cadence of my "E" sending consistent); that's when I'll get an occasional dah from the dit paddle. And I'm not sure that it's me changing cadence, or the fact that a dah goes out from the dit paddle which does throw the cadence out of whack. It's quite obvious when it occurs, and it does not take that long to happen ... maybe 30 to 60 seconds of sending only "E" in as rapid a sequence I'm able to. So I can't provide an exact sequence that reliably demonstrates a dah coming from the dit paddle, but this sequence, if kept up, will eventually surface that glitch.
The good news is that it is happening less frequently, but it does still occur on occasion. Also there's an extremely short duration but noticeable tick sound just after each and every dit or dah sent, which does make it have a bit of a "clunky" sound in the sidetone.?
?Yes, I can confirm almost all that you observed - I was struggling to find a meaningful way to convey it into words, you description is spot on!
