Also, when USB-C fails (Rev 1 board, fixed in Rev 2?) try
inverting the USB-C plug (swap top and bottom). Only an issue when
it's a "C" connector on both ends of the cable.
Finally, make sure it's a data cable and not
"power-only".

You don't mention if it's a Rev1 or Rev 2 QMX and you don't
mention the computer and its USB port. If it's a USB C port on the
computer and a Rev1, the computer might not recognize the QMX.?
