HNY All!
I've modified my QDX-HB with TN0110 FETs and rearranged my PA heatsinking method to accommodate the FET's reverse, or face-up orientation.
The aluminum was cut from 1/8" bar stock and trimmed to 14x12mm. Heatsink compound is applied to each surface. I used a longer nylon 3mm screw to hold it together, trimming the screw's excess with an X-acto.
FET leads are cut to ~6mm. I used the blade of a combination square (~2mm thick) as a gauge where to make the bend between at the bottom of the FET's plastic body. Thus the leads have about 4mm to fit into the socket strips.?
The arrangement with the two aluminum pieces also works well with the original face-down orientation.
In testing with 50R dummy load I'm getting ~3W on 20m with a power supply 7.51V. During transmit it drawing a little over 1A. The output transformer was wound for 9V.
I'll be testing it further with WSPR, too bad the website is down ATM.
