Interesting modification! A quick look found that MOSFET at about around ?2 each from Farnell here in UK, so not too expensive, especially if it saves the problem of replacing BS170s.? I notice that the D-S voltage characteristics are a bit different from the BS170.? It seems to require the full 5V drive available in the QDX.
