Cheers Andy, I have been contemplating switching and most probably will, mainly due to the cost, but the problems spent sorting today is the final nail in the coffin. At least I have the e-mail problem sorted thanks to Milos. 73 Ian G4GIR ----- Original Message ----- From: Andy <andy.mm0fmf@...> Reply-To: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: 19/09/2023 16:19:48 Subject: Re: [QRPLabs] No oi groups messages ________________________________________________________________________________
Virgin Media's email has been sh**e for years and years. I gave up using them for anything important in 2015 after they started dropping email for me they thought was spam. They didn't mark it as spam and let me see, no they accepted it from the sender and then dropped without delivery. As I am one of the people who run the SOTA IT system we have had never ending issues with Virgin doing that to people's registration mails or password recovery mails. I believe that Virgin no longer offers email to new subscribers, only existing users get the service now. They are slowly running the service down. I voted with my feet in 2015 and use an email service provided by a web host I have been using since 2006, a hotmail.com and a gmail.com address. I still have my Virgin email mailboxes but the only thing that I can guarantee you will receive in your Virgin inbox is the monthly (and ever increasing) bill! My street has Virgin cable and VDSL from OpenReach. Fibre to the premises from OpenReach and also CityFibre is being installed, it's in the main road but not yet in my road. A work mate who lives nearby was offered a symmetrical 1GBPS service for 50% of the cost of Virgin's 40/400MBPS service, took 48hrs to be installed and go live. Virgin's days are numbered with me. So yes you can forward from a gmail.com to your Virgin address but I would *strongly* suggest you dump them ASAP and start moving your accounts using Virgin address to your own . I bought my own domain and that has email forwarding. That means I'm in control. Important stuff like banking goes to that and groups.io and such goes to hotmail/gmail. Hello Milos Thanks for that, yes it sounds like a good way around it. It will save me having to set up 30+ new Message Rules in my OE Classic e-mail App. Cheers 73 Ian G4GIR *----- Original Message -----* *From:* Milo? I received and not received the e-mails from io groups in vawes. I discussed it with the provider and they asked for the logs from the sender side I did not know how to get. I replaced my e-mail by milos02.soukup@... <mailto:milos02.soukup@gmail> and the problem has been gone. I defined a rule in my gmail account for forwarding the e-mails from io to my previous e-mail. I receive them in the vawes ... 73! de Milo?, OK1FMY
