You need to press the left button briefly the Flash drive appears, drag the downloaded firmware to the Flash Drive and it will install, don't touch the left button again. I think the display will come alive once the Firmware gets installed. If you press the left button it will turn the QMX off.

No I haven't. I was under the impression that you didn't need to keep the left button pressed to load the firmware. Or at least this is how I read the assembly manual. Please accept my apologies if this in incorrect.
If I press the left button momentarily and release it, the board shuts down. That's the issue HI.
