Thanks for the reply.?
I made a point of reading the assembly manual and noted there was a section that mentions some components are sensitive to static electricity.? ?So, with this in mind used static protection ie strap, mat and grounded soldering irons.
As mentioned after loading the software was able to transmit with it, dummy load, and was getting around 4 watts out on 30 meters.? So, all seemed well. After a short time, 5 minutes, the display went dark. During the 5 minutes the radio was in receive mode. Would not reboot.? So checked for shorted components on the smaller smps board.? One of the diodes with W4 written on it showed it was shorted.? Pull the board out no short.? So measured resistance across the 6-pin right angle header and found two on the bottom row center and right side were shorted.? Measured across C214 near the?STM32 chip, measured a short.? That is as far as I can go as I don't really have the ability to do board level repairs.
This would have been the 11th QRP labs kit over the years.? Guess it's not to be.
