Re: QMX help - damaged SMD capacitors #problem

Datapoint: When I initially powered the qmx I got on the order of
200mA when pressing the left encoder.

Good news, sorta, L202 is in line to power the cpu, so, once you
replace it, fingers crossed, everything will work out. Just for good
measure use a loupe or camera to check the rest of the board just in
case something else fell off.

I have been trying to do some more troubleshooting on my own, still haven¡¯t found the issue. I put an ammeter in series and attempted to power up the QMX. While pressing the left encoder, minimal current is observed, like single digit mA.

I was reworking the connections to the two power boards, and when finished with the top side I went to pull them off and do the bottom side. Out of nowhere I see a loose SMD component laying on the table. Where did that come from, I wondered?

I located where it came from, and to my disappointment it appears to have taken the solder pads with it. It seems I can¡¯t handle this board without pieces coming off.

Any insights to why my QMX will not power up are appreciated, but for the moment, how would you recommend repairing the solder pads and replacing this component L202?
