One of these days!

Just finished the Sunday Early QMN and I must confess I saw the QTC for Jackson and I thought I should take that since I'm not far from there (I'm on the northwest Corner of Lenawee County near MIS). However, I've never taken a gram yet and still very nervous about it.?
?
I'm not giving up!
?
I will get there one of these day! Thank you QMN members for your patience.?

Will Need Sub for Early Net July 21

I will be out of town on July 21 and will not be home in time for my scheduled Early Net NCS duties. If someone can pick up early net, I would be most appreciative.

May Miss NCS Tue

Hello,

I may miss my NCS slot on Tuesday. I have to travel and may not be back home in time.

Re: Early net report for June 3

Hi Tom. I did not log a check-in to the Early net on June 3. It might have been the evening when we had terrible lightning in southern Michigan. Mike?

Missing ?

Group, I will be gone this coming Friday, June 28th. I have late QMN,
10 pm. Hopefully someone can pick
it up. John. K8LJG

Will be out of town

Due to Field Day I won't be checking in today.?
Also, I'll be out of town for a few days.?

I'm still very interested in the QMN and looking forward to many years in it. Just will be out of range for a few days.?

Also, I know I need to listen in to QTCs to learn the ropes and I can't do that if I'm checked in. So, I'll be spending some non-check-in time listening and learning.?

Thanks everyone!!!

Antenna Damage

Hello...

My 80m doublet is on the ground due to storm damage and given that Field Day is this weekend, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get out and repair it until sometime next week.

So, I'm off until then.

Jeff

Lightening

A good amount of lightening during tonight's early QMN. Had to unplug.?
Hope to join in the later.

Re: Question re: QTR

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi Tom,

Good question. QTR can have a couple of meanings.?

When used on a net report radiogram, it indicates the duration of the net session. If used in conversation it would mean either ¡®the correct time is¡¡¯ or ¡®what is the correct time?¡¯ depending on the presence or lack of a question mark.?

We are glad to have you as part of the net. Your skills are improving with practice.

I do have a question though about the reports. What does QTR mean??

I know the others but not that one and cannot find it in any of my Q code listings.?

Thanks!?

Hi Danny,

Well, I went back and reviewed the spreadsheet that Stan and I use to
keep track of QNI, QTC, and QTR for both the early and late sessions. I
found that I made a mistake. The late net had one less QTC that I
reported - a total for May of 30. Now, these numbers are only as good as
the net control station's net report sent to Stan (late) and myself
(early). I would tend to agree with you that there should be (on
average) at least one message per day, representing the net report,
along with additional messages. I cannot explain why the numbers are not
higher as you propose. I can say as a net control that the majority of
days there is NO traffic. Yes, occasionally there are inbound messages
to our section. On the Friday early net for example, we had a QTC of 2,
and both were inbound; one for Bellview and one for Ann Arbor, and no
net reports.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it. I simply report on what is sent
to me and accumulated throughout the month. I have never invested the
time to conduct an audit.

Tom, thanks for all of your monthly report for QMN. It is great to

But I disagree with the QTC column of the May 2024 report. It lists
the value of "31" for both the early and late sessions with a monthly
average of 1 each day.

Well, I don't checkin to the early session because I can't hear anyone
at this time in the summer. But I do check in almost every night to
the late session.

I would think that a value of "31" means that the only traffic passed
was a net report. That is true some nights on the late session but
some nights K8ED and/or KB8PGW list traffic coming in from 8RN or DTN.
Not all of that traffic finds an outlet during the net session but
some of it does. I don't think the listed figures are accurate.

Or am I missing something here????
