Today is Wednesday, October 16 and our annual QMN Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 at noon at the Branch County Memorial Airport Terminal on the west side of Coldwater. This facility is the home of the Branch County ARC and we are delighted to be able to show off our digs.

The address of the terminal building is 351 Airport Drive, Coldwater, 49036 and your GPS should bring you right to the door. Once you are at the terminal, you can enter the building under the covered entrance by the circle drive that serves as a drop off point for passengers or bulky items. You will see the QMN logo on the door. Come in and turn left (another QMN sign) down the hallway to the meeting room.

Please refer to previous communications concerning sandwich shops (if needed) on the east side of Coldwater in the vicinity of the US 12/I-69 interchange area.

We have two of our members who are pilots that are planning to fly in, so that will be an interesting twist for our picnic. Tom, W8MK and John, W8QZ are the pilots in our group.?

The weather forecast for Saturday (as of Wednesday) says 68 degrees and sunny. Planning anything in Michigan in October is iffy at best, but it appears that the weather gods may be smiling on us.

If the weather is suitable (temperature and wind conditions (airports are always windy..) there are a couple of picnic tables outside that we can use. We have folding tables and chairs that can augment the outdoor seating/eating areas if needed. If it is cold or too windy out, there is lots of room inside.

This location for the picnic is new to the QMN family. If it works out, I see no reason why we could not make this ¡°ours¡± for the foreseeable future, assuming that the membership agrees that the location is suitable.
