August QCWA Chapter 111 Meeting
Hi Everyone,
Well, here it is the end of August and it's time for our monthly QCWA Chapter 111 meeting. We are going to continue with our meetings at Denny's for now.? When:? Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Where: Denny's at 300 Civic Center Way, Royal Palm Beach. Time:? ?11:30 am (1530Z) The location is just west of the intersection of Okeechobee Blvd. & Royal Palm Beach Blvd. and it's on the south side. You can see it from Okeechobee Blvd. but it's official address is on Civic Center Way. Remember that this is not a buffet and we will each order from their menu.? Hi all, Sorry I could not make last month's meeting. I was still doing remote online classes with my 7 year old. He passed 1st grade. And this month I am in GA and will not be in FL until after July 4th. QCWA Chapter 111 Meeting - May 25, 2021
HI Everyone,
I hope this finds you all doing well.? At our last chapter meeting we discussed having this month's meeting at a park instead of doing a Zoom meeting again. The feeling was that this will at least let us meet in person and at least spend a little time chatting with each other. So, the next meeting of QCWA, Chapter 111 will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:30 am at the Wellington Village Park. The address is: 11700 Pierson Rd., Wellington. We will try to be located in Pavilion 1 which is located on the left just after you enter the park. If we can't get that pavilion we'll, hopefully, be in one of the others.? Brief directions: from Rt. 441 and Stribling Way, go west on Stribling Way to the traffic circle. Go around the circle and take the last road off of the circle (Fairlane Farms Rd.). At the first stop sign turn right onto Pierson Rd. Follow Pierson (watch out for the speed bumps) for about 1/4 mile. The park entrance is on the left. Once in the park you will see a large structure on your left (Roller Rink). Pavilion 1 is right next to that structure. You should not have a problem finding us. If you get close and need a bit of talk-in, give a shout on 146.520 MHz.? This will not be a picnic. If you want to have a bite to eat while out there please bring your own sandwich and drink. Also, you might want to bring your own chair so we can try to achieve social distancing. There should be picnic tables in the pavilion but I would bring a chair in case you want to use it. The idea is to just do a get-together and have a chance to interact in person for a change. I don't know if Wellington has a mask rule so I think you should have one with you just in case. A great opportunity to promote ham radio in PBC

Some of you might remember our antique radio museum in Yesteryear Village at the South FL Fair a few years ago.
Fair officials have approached me to re establish this exhibit at the fair once again. They would like us to set up a functioning amateur radio station for the upcoming fair from May 7 thru the 23rd this year. After the fair, they are planning to work with us to set up a permanent exhibit in a building at Yesteryear Village. I'm looking for volunteers for the fair and the permanent exhibit for set up and working the booth.. We are also looking for donations of radio equipment, antennas, etc. to put this all together. ? ? I agree with you; now is not the time to return to indoor "dining". There remain too many issues involving the virus. Whether we like it or not our lives will probably be impacted, especially as "senior citizens" for many, many more months if not forever. Sadly, I do not believe that the Covid virus will be an isolated incident especially since additional variants are being discovered and there is talk of an additional vaccination ( total of 3). Yes, my thanks also go out to Howard for arranging the ZOOM sessions. As Ham Radio operators we are fortunate in being able to pursue our hobby and keep in touch with ham radio friends and the world.

December 2020 QCWA Chapter Meeting
Hi everyone,As we normally do each year we change what would be our normal meeting date so as to not interfere with the holidays. So, this month our meeting date will NOT be on the last Tuesday of the month but, instead, will be held on Tuesday, December 15.
