Re: Don Search, W3AZD SK

Don was in the US Air Force working on F102s and F101s about the time I joined Hughes Aircraft Company as a field engineer.? He worked on airborne fire control RADAR systems MG-10 and MG-13 which Hughes made for those aircraft operated by NORAD, the North American Air Defense Command. I was assigned to squadrons at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson,? Perrin AFB Sherman Texas, and three Canadian AFBs for the first six years of my career. I never crossed paths with Don then, but we did have some interesting chats about those days at our QCWA lunches. He was a nice guy and an enthusiastic ham.

It is with much sadness that I must report the passing of our
good friend and Chapter 12 President, Don Search, W3AZD.

Don and his XYL Hope were fixtures at our Chapter lunches
and they will be missed at our meetings.

When arrangements are known, they will be posted on our
various amateur radio media.

47, Jeff
