Where can I find a schedule of nets in the Valley?

New to ham radio and / or new to the Valley?

Here's where you can find the best schedule and details of most of the Nets in the Valley:

Elmer Tip: Facebook Page or Group? What's the difference?

A Facebook Page is not very interactive. It is a primarily an information page of a business or organization for the purpose of providing a single point of reference where the owner/administrator can push out notifications. A visitor to this page can "Like" the page and post comments to a notification, if allowed.

A Facebook Group is completely interactive. Once you "join" such a group, you can post topics, events, etc. just as the owner/administrator can. However, the group owner/administrator can impose limitations and restrictions plus manage/moderate members' activities as needed. This is the type of Facebook presence that will allow maximum member participation, contributions, and discussion threads.

Re: ? Local Ham Club Activities ?

Hi Bob adn Group,

I don't know of any. They are very rare these days.

As you probably remember, we used to run courses but found the self-study method to be the best for most people.

Today, you can find on Youtube several types of Tech license info: (1) informational and (2) instruction based. The instruction types are usually a series of 5 to 10 videos that are typically real courses that have been recorded.

I have put a request to about 10 folks in the Valley that tend to know if there are classes. I'll let you know what I find out.

Regards,

Joe, N2QOJ
