Amateur Radio Test Session - Saturday, August 14th, 10 AM - Mesa Area

Are you ready to upgrade? Do you have a friend or family member ready to take the FCC Amateur Radio Technician exam?

If so, there will be a test session in Mesa on Saturday, August 14th at 10:00 AM.? This test session is by appointment only and there is no cost. The exact location will be announced to the person registering for an appointment.

If an interested person is seeking an initial radio license (i.e. has no call sign) then that person must also have a Federal Registration Number (FRN) issued by the FCC in order to take a test.

* EVERYONE TESTING MUST HAVE FRN *

Central Arizona Youth Net - History and Detail

Ocotillo Repeater (STV Repeater) 449.325 MHz PL 100.0 Hz

Net Control Operator - Landon, AI7HE

This net has been created and organized by Landon, AI7HE. It officially began on Sunday, August 9th at 5 PM local time. This will be the official day and time of this weekly net.

The purpose is to promote amateur radio to youth, encourage other youth operators to check in especially those that are not that active or are afraid to push that PTT, share ideas with hams young and old, improve on the air etiquette, and to have fun at the same time. The target is youth but ALL licensed operators regardless of skill level and age are invited to check in.

This net meets every Sunday at 5PM Arizona time, 1700 hours. To participate in this net, you may access directly on this repeater or via EchoLink at N2QOJ-R, also known as Node 185734.

For the duration of the net, this repeater's EchoLink node will be connected to the "YACHT" EchoLink Conference - Young Amateur Communications Ham Team, *YACHT" node 9544283.

Young hams are encouraged to participate or listen in. Please pass this announcement on to a young ham.

QCECG Meeting, Thursday Evening at 7 PM

 

REMINDER

The Queen Creek Emergency Communications Group resumes monthly meetings beginning Thursday, July 8th at 7 PM.

Our monthly meetings will be held at Queen Creek Library -- actually it's the Recreation Department Library Annex. We will meet in the Zane Grey Community Room. We have this venue reserved for our monthly meetings until June of 2022.
